Instabank takes a clear challenger position with athletics sponsorship
supporting those who strive for excellence

“Instabank’s heart beats a little extra for challengers aiming to reach the top. As the main sponsor of the Norwegian Athletics Federation, we will focus particularly on the talents on the verge of a major breakthrough—those who work extra hard to take that final step to the top,” says Robert Berg, CEO of Instabank.

Instabank is a fully Norwegian digital bank launched in September 2016. This fall, it became known that the bank, which has approximately 90,000 customers in the Nordics and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, has entered into an agreement as the main sponsor of Norwegian Athletics until 2026.

“We are a young bank ourselves, challenging the established market, and many of our business customers are in the same situation. Norwegian athletics has challenged the world and reached the top in events we never thought Norwegians could excel in globally. That’s a culture we want to learn more about—and contribute to,” says Robert Berg.

Athletes like Karsten Warholm and Jakob Ingebrigtsen have long been established as world leaders. Meanwhile, in the shadow of these superstars, a new generation of Norwegian track and field athletes is emerging. They are ready to take new steps toward the world elite at events like this year’s European Championships in Rome and the Olympics in Paris.

“Håvard Bentdal Ingvaldsen (400 meters) made his mark already last year and is nominated for the ‘Breakthrough of the Year’ award at the Sports Gala in Trondheim this coming weekend. We are keeping a close eye on him, as well as athletes like Henriette Jæger (400 meters) and the multi-event duo Sander Aae Skotheim and Markus Rooth. They all possess qualities that Instabank identifies with,” explains CEO Berg.

Berg could also highlight strong performance improvements in the past year. Instabank ASA reported a post-tax profit of NOK 28.2 million in the third quarter, up 53% compared to the same period in 2022. The launch of business loans in the latter half of the year significantly contributed to this positive development.
